Tour Itinerary

Upon arrival, you will meet by our representative at Lucknow and assist you to transfer to Nepalgunj Hotel (Note:- Breakfast and Lunch on the way on your own) – And overnight stay at Hotel Kalpataru (3 star) or Hotel Central Plaza or Similar at Nepalgunj. (Room on twin sharing basis)

Early morning fly to Simikot by fixed wing plane (1 hr flight) and change over at Simikot to fly further to Hilsa by helicopter (20-25 min flight) and trek 15 min to cross border and drive to Purang/Taklakot (1.5 hour). Overnight at Hotel Himalaya or Hotel Purang in Purang. (3/4 sharing with attached toilet)

Full day free for acclimatization. Short treks will be taken in preparation for Parikrama. Overnight at Hotel Himalaya or Hotel Purang in Purang. (3/4 sharing with attached toilet)

Morning, Drive to Hor Chu (Manasarovar Lake) – 1.5 hours & start Manasarovar Parikrama 72 kms / 3 hrs. Take holy bath and start performing Puja & Hawan at Manasarovar by our Priest (Pujari). Overnight at Paramartha Guesthouse or Similar (Dormitory room) at Chiu Gompa.

After early breakfast, drive to Darchen (1hrs) and continuous journey to Tarboche (Yama Dwar) 8 kms/20 min and start the first day Kailash Parikrama to Diraphuk (13 kms/6 hrs) light pack lunch on the way. Those who want to go for Charan Sparsh our sherpa staff will assist from Diraphuk camp to take further ahead for Charan Sparsh darshan (as per permission given by Chinese military or guide and depend on your health fitness, we will walk as much nearest possible towards Mt. Kailash, there is certain limitation point from where we have to return back). Dinner & overnight at Shishapangma or Wongda Guesthouse.(Dormitory room without attached toilet)

NOTE:- Yatris who do not go for Parikrama will stay Hotel Letu/Sansui/Formant (4 Star) or similar

This is the day every pilgrims talk about, the most difficult journey throughout the yatra. You have to wake up early morning, you can see the blissful view of Golden Kailash in the morning at sunrise period (if weather is clear) – then those trekkers group start further kora with the steep climbing trek up to the 18,600 ft. (Dolma- la Pass) – descend to Gauri Kunda and further trek along with the river to Zuthulpuk. And those pilgrims who are not going kora ahead will return back to Darchen and if any of return members wish to go Charan Sparsh will get another chance today again. Dinner & overnight at Zuthulpuk Guesthouse. (Dormitory room without attached toilet)

After breakfast we trek around 8 kms / 2 hrs and will be reaching to the point where bus will be waiting for taking us to Darchen. After lunch proceed to Lake Manasarovar (if full moon day) & overnight at Paramartha or Similar Guesthouse. OR if your program do not meet full moon day on this date then your program will follow our normal itinerary with exit to Hilsa & fly to Simikot. Overnight at Guesthouse in Hilsa or Simikot. (Potala Guesthouse or similar Dormitory room without attached toilet)

Note:- We will take halt at Manasarovar (Chiu Gompa) when the full moon day lies on this day. Otherwise we will exit to Hilsa & stay there or if time & Helicopter permits we will fly to Simikot & Stay there.

If your program follow full moon day then you will wake up an early morning & have breakfast then around 8 am, drive to Taklakot with light packed lunch. After the immigration and custom formalities – cross over to Nepal border – drive to Hilsa and fly to Simikot – Nepalgunj. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, our tour representative will assist you arranging your vehicle to drop Lucknow.

This day is kept as buffer day to adjust any unexpected delays or cancellation. One day we have kept leisure day because sometimes the aircraft and helicopters do not fly in time or cancel due to bad weather or being more crowd of yatris flying to Simikot or Hilsa. In such unexpected situation, all of us will stay at Hilsa or Simikot or Nepalgunj.

Hence, even if you stuck or get halt on any of previous day then you will reach Nepalgunj today and we will arrange your transfer for Lucknow drop.

Physical Fitness Requirements

While the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula is vehicle-supported (no multi-day trekking), pilgrims should be prepared for:

  • Altitudes up to 3,750 meters (12,300 ft) at Gaurikund viewpoint
  • Short walks (1–2 km) on uneven terrain at Parvati Sarovar & Nabhidhang
  • Sudden temperature drops (even in summer)

We recommend:

  • Light cardio exercise 3 weeks prior
  • Hydration & Diamox (consult doctor) for altitude sensitivity

Our itinerary includes built-in rest stops at Napalchu (2,900m) for safe acclimatization

Altitude Sickness Information

Altitude sickness (AMS) is a serious concern as the route reaches elevations above 5,600m. Understanding symptoms and prevention is vital.

  • Symptoms: headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
  • Acclimatization stops are built into the itinerary — do not skip them.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol at high altitude.
  • Diamox may be prescribed — consult your doctor before the trip.

Visa & Permit Information

As of January 2026, all pilgrims undertaking the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula must obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) issued by the District Magistrate Office in Pithoragarh. Travel Dukaan handles end-to-end processing—no police verification needed for Indian citizens if applied 15+ days in advance. Required documents:

  • Valid Govt. ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport)
  • 2 passport-sized photos
  • Completed ILP form (we provide)
