Tour Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet by our representative with warm welcome then transferred to Hotel. At evening, short briefing program on tour by our tour manager and dinner.

Overnight Hotel Shangri-La or Similar (twin sharing room with attached bathroom)

Breakfast in the hotel. And go for sightseeing visit of Pashupatinath temple & Budhanilkantha Vishnu temple (sleeping Vishnu).

Afternoon: After lunch, transfer to domestic airport for your flight to Nepalgunj. Our representative will receive you at the airport and transfer to Hotel. Reach in the hotel and refresh. In the evening, our tour manager will brief you shortly about trip program. Today you have rest & relax day in Nepalgunj. Dinner in the hotel.

Overnight Hotel Kalptaru or Hotel Siddhartha Cottage (twin room with attached bathroom)

  • Kathmandu to Nepalgunj: 1 hour flight by aircraft

Early in the morning we have to check out from the hotel then drive to Nepalgunj airport for flight to Hilsa by charter helicopter. Hilsa is the border village of Nepal & Tibet. The chopper (helicopter) carries 5 passengers at a time and land it on Simikot where our tour representative will assist for Nepal immigration & customs. Then you will continue your Heli flight towards Hilsa, our Hilsa representative will receive you and help you to cross Nepal-Tibet border going through security & immigration checking formalities. You have to make short walk about 10 min to cross Nepal-Tibet Bridge over Karnali River. In other side at Tibet, you will be receive by our Tibetan guide & driver along with police security. Your visa, passport & luggage will be check then we will lead our journey ahead towards Taklakot (1hr) by deluxe jeep or bus depending upon our group size. Arrive in Taklakot city and you should once go through immigration & custom formalities in China side then check into hotel. Our supporting staff team will meet you in hotel and now onwards will be available for your service. Lunch will be ready in hotel so you can have lunch then check into room for rest. You will be inform for your dinner & short briefing program with staff introduction for evening. Overnight at Hotel

Overnight Hotel Himalaya or Hotel Purang (triple sharing room with attached bathroom)

  • Nepalgunj to Simikot: 1 hour (by B2 (Euro copter) Helicopter with 5 seats)
  • If the weather is not good in Simikot OR en route to Simikot, the flight will be canceled and need to stay back in Nepalgunj for next day retry.
  • Simikot to Hilsa: 15 to 20 minutes by B2 (Euro copter) Helicopter with 5 seats
  • Hilsa to Sher trek: 10 minutes
  • Sher to Taklakot drive: 1 hour by deluxe Hyundai SUV

In the morning, you will have breakfast and after police security come into our hotel at around 09.30 am, we will move our eternal journey towards Holy Lake Manasarovar with our Nepali leader & Tibetan guide. Today you will be doing complete parikrama of Lake Manasarovar. Our vehicle will stop at one of good location where you can take the holy dip in Manasarovar & worship at the beach of Manasarovar Lake. You will also able to see beautiful Lake Rakshas Tal & Gurla Mandata Mountain while you are making Lake Parikrama. Then your journey will retrace back to Purang highway but you will visit Enroute Yamadwar via Darchen. You will have lunch in Darchen at one of hotel, meal cook and serve by our staff. You will have the nearest view of south face of Mt. Kailash from Yama Dwar (Sherson). Yama Dwar is the base camp to start Kailash Kora for 3 days. You will visit Yama Dwar with three times kora around it and have blissful darshan of Mt. Kailash (abode of Shiva), we will return back to Taklakot for overnight stay at Hotel. You will have wonderful dinner today prepare & serve by our staff team.

  • Taklakot to Lake Manasarovar drive: 2 hours
  • The distance of Manasarovar circumambulation: 72 km / 3 hrs
  • Lake Manasarovar to Darchen – 45 minutes drive
  • Darchen to Yama Dwar: 30 minutes drive
  • Yama Dwar to Taklakot: 2.5 hrs drive

Morning after breakfast, Tibetan guide will assist for police security arrangement and immigration formalities in Taklakot town. After completion of customs, our staff team will see off you and you will drive back to Sher, the border at Tibet side. As before, you will be receive by our Hilsa representative and you should make short walk to cross bridge and reach at Helipad. Our representative will help you to ride Helicopter from Hilsa to Simikot and you should make few minutes immigration formalities then again continue your helicopter charter flight to Nepalgunj. Arrival in Nepalgunj, our tour representative will assist you arranging your vehicle to drop Lucknow

Physical Fitness Requirements

While the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula is vehicle-supported (no multi-day trekking), pilgrims should be prepared for:

  • Altitudes up to 3,750 meters (12,300 ft) at Gaurikund viewpoint
  • Short walks (1–2 km) on uneven terrain at Parvati Sarovar & Nabhidhang
  • Sudden temperature drops (even in summer)

We recommend:

  • Light cardio exercise 3 weeks prior
  • Hydration & Diamox (consult doctor) for altitude sensitivity

Our itinerary includes built-in rest stops at Napalchu (2,900m) for safe acclimatization

Altitude Sickness Information

Altitude sickness (AMS) is a serious concern as the route reaches elevations above 5,600m. Understanding symptoms and prevention is vital.

  • Symptoms: headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
  • Acclimatization stops are built into the itinerary — do not skip them.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol at high altitude.
  • Diamox may be prescribed — consult your doctor before the trip.

Visa & Permit Information

As of January 2026, all pilgrims undertaking the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula must obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) issued by the District Magistrate Office in Pithoragarh. Travel Dukaan handles end-to-end processing—no police verification needed for Indian citizens if applied 15+ days in advance. Required documents:

  • Valid Govt. ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport)
  • 2 passport-sized photos
  • Completed ILP form (we provide)
