Tour Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu, meet by our tour officer at the airport. You will be welcome by Rudrakshya Mala and providing complimentary Water Bottle. Then you will transfer to hotel, check in and rest. In the evening, dinner at hotel and you will be inform about your next day tour program by our leader.

* Overnight at Hotel Pabera Heritage or Le Himalaya or similar (Room on twin sharing basis)

After breakfast, you will commence sightseeing tour of Pashupatinath Temple (the biggest Hindu temple) and Budhanilkantha temple (the tallest sleeping Vishnu). Lunch in the hotel and rest day at free for the preparation of trip. There will be short briefing program conducted in the hall before dinner around 6 pm along with assistance for money exchange & down jacket distribution.

* Overnight at Hotel Pabera Heritage or Le Himalaya or similar (Room on twin sharing basis)

Today, you should wake up little early, take breakfast at hotel then start Yatra to border by 7 am. The highway goes with scenic drive passing through Trishuli Bazaar, Kalikasthan, Dhunche and finally reach at Syabrubesi. If the drive went late, you will have lunch in Dhunche, the base camp to start trekking to Langtang valley. Depending upon the availability of accommodation, your stay will be manage either in Syabrubesi or Timure. Syabrubesi is also alike main town to begin trekking to Langtang region. And Timure is the small border village where all immigration and customs are process to across border. The journey from Kalikasthan to Timure will be little tiresome due to off road and numerous check point by Police security and Army due to Langtang National Park region and near to border. On arrive at lodge, rest and relax.

* Overnight at Syabrubesi – Peaceful or Budha or Similar (3to4 persons in a room, dormitory)

* Overnight at Timure (Ghatekhula)–Kailash or Sonam or Similar (3to4 persons, dormitory)

Note: If the Kyirong border does not open in 2026, then we will be using the Kodari / Zhangmu border, so we will stay at the Tatopani or Kodari border (KTM to Kodari approx 120km). * Overnight at Guesthouse – Manasarovar or Similar (3to4 persons in a room, dormitory)

Take breakfast by 7.30 am then we will move towards border at Rasuwagadhi. Our representative will assist us for the immigration & custom formalities in Nepal side then proceed to enter Tibet region by walk crossing Friendship Bridge (20 min). While you check into Tibet immigration, you should stay in queue as per visa serial number. Tibetan guide will help for China side immigration and then drive ahead to Kyirong. After one hour & thirty minutes drive, we reach at Kerung town where our Tibetan guide will help us to provide accommodation for our stay. We will check into room and our staff team will assist for transferring your baggage to your room. Then if we reach Kyring at lunch then we will take lunch in CIPSC kitchen or if we reach late after having lunch in Nepal side already then we will serve with tea/snacks in the afternoon. After refresh, warm up with short walking around Kyirong market so that you will adjust with Tibetan climate and its altitude. Then dinner in the evening and overnight stay.

* Overnight at Hotel – Hotel Jilong or Feition or Similar (2to3 persons in room attached toilet)

After breakfast drive to saga. Today we will visit holy Brahmaputra river it is very close to saga town. The enroute highway is scenic mountain road along with beautiful panoramic view of Mt. Shishapangma ranges. Pack lunch will be serve on the way after crossing the high pass near Peiku Tso view. Then after continue drive to Saga via Brahmaputra river. Check into hotel at Saga. The accommodation are based on twin bed room with two extra mattress on the floor. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

* Hotel Yami or Gangri or Lumbu or Similar (2/3 persons in a room with attached toilet)

Today is the rest day in Saga for the acclimatization purpose. You should wonder around Saga market warming up the body.

Today we have to wake up very early morning and take early breakfast. We begin our Yatra by 6 am approximately so that we can reach Lake Manasarovar at earliest possible for holy bath and puja. You will cross the highest motorable pass – Mayum-La Pass 5200 m). Before this pass, we will have to wait sometimes for check points formalities for Ngari region (Kailash) then with short drive further before Mayum La pass, we will take halt for Lunch break.

After then our border bus will make stop at Manasarovar entry check post where we have to change our border bus to pollution free bus of Manasarovar region. Sometimes, we have to wait some while for bus due to bus unavailability at that time so we spare such time by chanting and praying looking great views of Lake Manasarovar & Mt. Kailash.

Once the bus start, it goes for parikrama of Lake Manasarovar, the lake created by the thoughts of Brahma for Gods & Goddess and will stop at good location for holy bath and Puja & Hawan at Manasarovar by our Priest (Pujari) at Chiu Gompa. Today you will make 70% parikrama (circumambulation) of Lake, you will see Rakshas Taal, abother beautiful fresh water lake, also called Rawan Lake, the demon lake created by Lanka king Rawan with crescent moon shape and come to stay in ChiuGompa at Guesthouse. Take complete rest with keeping warm to your body.

* Overnight at Paramarth Ashram Guesthouse or Similar (dormitory room)

Today you will have plenty time for Puja / Hawan and holy bath in Lake Manasarovar, the lake created by Brahma in his mind. You will have breakfast in the morning at basic time. Some of you can also go hike for Chiu Gompa visit reside in the top of hill close from camp. After lunch, we will drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mt. Kailash where we will stay an overnight in order to prepare for trekking around Mt. Kailash. Similarly, you can also spectacle snow capped mountain range of Gurla Mandata and Rakshas Tal once again. You can stroll around small market of Darchen town in the late afternoon.

* Overnight at Hotel Sansui or Formant or Letu or Similar (2/3 persons in a room with attached toilet)

After early breakfast, drive to Tarboche (Yama Dwar) – 8 kms / 20 min and start the first day Kailash Parikrama to Diraphuk (13 kms / 6 hrs), light pack lunch on the way. Those who want to go for Charan Sparsh our sherpa staff will assist from Diraphuk camp to take further ahead for Charan Sparsh darshan (as per permission given by Chinese military or guide and depend on your health fitness, we will walk as much nearest possible towards Mt. Kailash, there is certain limitation point from where we have to return back). Dinner & overnight at Shishapangma or Wongda Guesthouse (Dormitory room without attached toilet)

NOTE:- Yatris who do not go for Parikrama will stay Hotel Sansui at Darchen or similar

Your wake up will be at 4.30 am early morning today, then quick fresh up & breakfast. Before sunrise, we start our trek to cross Dolma La at earliest. As yesterday, you should take pack lunch with you and start uphill climb from the beginning of the camp along through view of Shivasthal till steep climb to Dolma La Pass (5600 m.) for 4 to 5 hours. At Dolma La, Buddhists pay homage offering prayer flags, money, clothings, incense sticks etc. After Dolma La, just cross down you will see the holiest lake – Gauri Kunda at your right below and you will cross short glacier level then after couple of hours descends you should trek down very careful the steep downhill to reach teashop. Take short break here for lunch and rest then continue flat trail trekking upto Zuthulphuk camp for 3 hours approximately. And those pilgrims who are not going kora ahead will return back to Darchen and if any of return members wish to go Charan Sparsh will get another chance today again. Dinner & overnight at Zuthulphuk Guesthouse (Dormitory room without attached toilet)

After breakfast we trek around 8 kms / 2 hrs and will be reaching to the point where bus will be waiting for taking us to Darchen. Take breakfast in Darchen, be refresh and drive to Saga with pack lunch. We will change our bus at Manasarovar Check Post to our previous border bus and get last darshan & blessing of Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar and continue drive. Reach Saga with same route drive. Take rest and dinner in the hotel.

Return back to Kyirong via the same route of Brahmaputra river & Peiku Tso lake.

* Overnight at Hotel – Hotel Jilong or Feition or Similar (2to3 persons in room attached toilet)

Morning after early breakfast drive down to Rasuwagadhi border, cross over the Friendship Bridge then drive back to Kathmandu. Lunch will be served in Syabrubesi. Evening dinner and rest at hotel.

Breakfast in the hotel. According to your flight schedule, you will be transfer to international airport in Kathmandu for your flight back home

Physical Fitness Requirements

While the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula is vehicle-supported (no multi-day trekking), pilgrims should be prepared for:

  • Altitudes up to 3,750 meters (12,300 ft) at Gaurikund viewpoint
  • Short walks (1–2 km) on uneven terrain at Parvati Sarovar & Nabhidhang
  • Sudden temperature drops (even in summer)

We recommend:

  • Light cardio exercise 3 weeks prior
  • Hydration & Diamox (consult doctor) for altitude sensitivity

Our itinerary includes built-in rest stops at Napalchu (2,900m) for safe acclimatization

Altitude Sickness Information

Altitude sickness (AMS) is a serious concern as the route reaches elevations above 5,600m. Understanding symptoms and prevention is vital.

  • Symptoms: headache, nausea, dizziness, and shortness of breath.
  • Acclimatization stops are built into the itinerary — do not skip them.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol at high altitude.
  • Diamox may be prescribed — consult your doctor before the trip.

Visa & Permit Information

As of January 2026, all pilgrims undertaking the Adi Kailash Yatra from Dharchula must obtain an Inner Line Permit (ILP) issued by the District Magistrate Office in Pithoragarh. Travel Dukaan handles end-to-end processing—no police verification needed for Indian citizens if applied 15+ days in advance. Required documents:

  • Valid Govt. ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport)
  • 2 passport-sized photos
  • Completed ILP form (we provide)
